Akhirnya the Doctor berhasil merebut kembali mahkota juara dunia MotoGp setelah gagal meraihnya dua tahun berturut-turut.

Gelar juara dunia dipinjamkan kepada Nicky Hayden (2006) dan Casey Stoner (2007), hari ini Valentino Rossi mengambil kembali gelar juara dunia tersebut.

Tahun lalu Casey Stoner memastikan gelar juaranya di sirkuit yang sama, sirkuit Motegi - Jepang. Hari ini, Valentino Rossi membalas kelakuan Casey Stoner. Valentino Rossi memastikan diri menjadi juara dunia motoGP 2008.

Memang sih seri balapan MotoGP 2008 belum selesai, tapi poin Valentino Rossi sudah tidak terkejar oleh juara dunia MotoGP 2007 Casey Stoner.
Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa keputusan Valentino Rossi mengganti ban motornya tidaklah salah.
